  • 1/4 tbsp black pepper

  • 2 ibs cubes
  • 3 cooked bacon
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Method to Make the Chilis Loaded Mashed Potatoes

Boiling the Potatoes

In a large size cooking pot, pour some water. Add the potatoes and then add a tablespoon of salt to this water. Let the potatoes boil on high heat on the stovetop until the potatoes are softened and tender enough.

Preheating the Oven

In the meantime when the potatoes are boiling, preheat the oven at the temperature of 400 degrees. Also, prepare the baking pan by spraying it with the no-stick cooking spray.

Preparing the Bacon

Fry the bacon in a cooking pan either on the stovetop or in the air fryer. Once you have fried the bacon in a slight oil in a pan, put it aside on the paper towels. The paper towels soak the excess oil from the bacon. Then use a knife to roughly chop the bacon.

Mashing the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are boiled, drain the water, peel the potatoes, and then mash them in the pot using the potato masher. After mashing add some butter and cream into the mashed potatoes. Mix well using a hand mixer.

Seasoning the Potato Mixture

Then you have to season the potato mixture in which you have added the cream and butter. Sprinkle in the required quantity of salt and pepper.

Assembling the Baking Dish

Once you are done with the prep work you have to assemble the baking dish. Spread the boiled and mashed potato mixture in the baking dish. Make an even layer on the top and spread the shredded cheese. Finally, top the casserole with the fried bacon.

Baking the Dish

Put the baking dish in the oven and bake your meal for only 10 minutes at the same temperature. Let the cheese melt. The color of the dish changes to a beautiful golden brown color.

Serving the Loaded Mashed Potatoes

Spread the scallions at the top of the baked potatoes and serve the dish while hot.
